Five contemplative days in the Seljuk capital: the mausoleum of Rumi, the Sema ceremony of the whirling dervishes, medreses turned museums and the cave chapels of Sille.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Istanbul → Konya
Departure with Turkish Airlines. Arrival in Istanbul and connecting flight to Konya. Evening transfer to the hotel, check-in and free time. Overnight stay in Konya.
Day 2 — Konya City Tour & Mevlana Museum
Breakfast. Panoramic tour of Konya: the Şems Mosque and tomb, then the Mevlana Museum with the mausoleum, the dervish cells, the library and the Semahane hall. In the evening, a visit to the Mevlana Cultural Centre for the Sema ceremony of the whirling dervishes. Overnight stay.
Day 3 — Konya Historical Highlights
Breakfast. Alaaddin Hill with the Alaaddin Mosque and the ruins of the Seljuk Palace. The Karatay Medrese (Ceramics Museum), the İnce Minare Medrese (Wood & Stone Museum) and Zafer Square with the Mevlana statue. Free time in the bazaar. Overnight stay in Konya.
Day 4 — Excursion to Sille Village
Breakfast. Optional excursion to Sille, a historic Greek village with cave chapels and traditional stone houses. Free time for shopping in Konya's modern malls. Optional dinner in a cave restaurant with live music. Overnight stay.
Day 5 — Konya → Istanbul
Breakfast and free time until the transfer to Konya Airport. Flight to Istanbul. End of programme.
