Green Mosque – Koza Han – Uludağ – Cumalıkızık
Full Day Tour · 08:00 – 19:30
A full-day excursion to the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, reached by ferry across the Sea of Marmara.
On the Way to Bursa
We are on our way to explore the first capital city of the Ottoman Empire. Our excursion to Bursa starts with the ferryboat we take at Yenikapı. After a journey of around 2.5 hours we continue with our vehicle and reach Bursa. We first visit the Yeşil Mosque, the Yeşil Sepulchre — globally known for its tiles — and the Ulu Mosque.
İskender Kebab Lunch
We have lunch at one of the most famous kebab restaurants of Bursa. The İskender Kebab of Bursa deserves the fame it has earned.
Grand Bazaar & Koza Han
After lunch we visit the city's historic Grand Bazaar and Koza Han, the Silk Bazaar. Bursa is the last station of the historical Silk Road, so sericulture plays an important role in the history of the city. There are many historical caravanserais in Bursa where silk trade has been performed for ages; the most important is Koza Han, built in 1491 by Sultan Bayezid II.
Uludağ & Cumalıkızık
Being one of the most important winter sports centres of Türkiye, Uludağ is mentioned as 'Olympos' in the History of Herodotus, and the geographer Strabo writes of Mysia Olympos. We finish the day in Cumalıkızık, a 700-year-old Ottoman village of colourful houses.
